Company overview

What our team does, and how we work

ES

Engineering services

Custom enterprise software, financial platforms, system architecture, integration, legacy modernization and digital product delivery.

OP

Optimization practice

Performance diagnosis and re-architecture across application code, databases, messaging, containers, networks and operational process.

DP

Data and platform

Database engineering, enterprise integration, event-driven design, cloud migration and container platform operations.

MS

Managed support

Production support, incident response, root-cause analysis, preventive maintenance and continuity planning for mission-critical environments.

Senior-led teams

Experienced engineers stay close to architecture, code and delivery.

Smallest complete solution

Fewer moving parts, proven technology, visible trade-offs.

Measurable increments

Working releases with performance evidence and operational feedback.

Durable handover

Documentation, automation and knowledge transfer outlast the engagement.

History and evolution

Four decades of cumulative experience

The company was founded in 1996. Experience earlier than that date is presented accurately as accumulated team and consulting-practice experience, not as company history.

1986 Prior team experience — Systems

UNIX kernel, multiprocessor I/O, device drivers, X Window and operating-system performance engineering at AT&T Bell Laboratories.

1994 Prior team experience — Enterprise & Trading

Enterprise imaging APIs, real-time client/server trade notification, telecom performance systems and UNIX-to-Windows architectures.

1996 SoftDomain founded

A specialist engineering company created for demanding cross-platform, systems, integration and enterprise software challenges.

2000s Direct and partner projects

Trading systems, publishing platforms, device drivers, firewalls, wireless access and large-scale platform migrations.

2010s Consulting practice

Derivatives clearing, market connectivity, fraud-platform redesign, mobile interfaces and performance engineering.

2018–present Cloud-native and product

AWS and Google Cloud migrations, OCI containers, Kubernetes/OpenShift, OAuth 2.0/OIDC identity, and directly built product ecosystems.

Company age is counted from 1996. Pre-1996 milestones describe the accumulated experience of the team.

What guides us

Mission, vision and values

Mission

To engineer, optimize and support the systems our clients cannot afford to have fail — with technical honesty, architectural simplicity and measurable outcomes.

Vision

To be the engineering partner organizations turn to when a platform must scale, modernize or perform under conditions where the margin for error is small.

Our values

Reliability

Systems are judged in production, not in demonstration.

Engineering excellence

Depth over volume; craft over checklists.

Security

Protection of sensitive data is a design input, not an afterthought.

Integrity

Constraints, risks and unknowns are made visible early.

Confidentiality

Client environments and data are handled with discipline.

Accountability

We stay responsible for the outcome, not only the deliverable.

Partnership

We work as an extension of the client's own technology team.

Continuous improvement

Every engagement should leave a stronger engineering system.

Differentiators

Why organizations choose our team

01

Financial-domain knowledge

Our specialists have worked inside clearing, fixed income, market data, pricing and fraud environments.

02

High-volume transaction experience

Portfolio outcomes include 18 ms round-trip pricing, throughput multiplication and peak-load re-architecture.

03

Systems depth

Our engineering lineage reaches to kernel, driver, filesystem and network-stack level.

04

Database specialization

Relational engineering, stored-procedure optimization and data-platform migration across major engines.

05

Full-stack optimization

We diagnose across code, data, messaging, containers, infrastructure and operational process.

06

Cloud-native expertise

AWS and Google Cloud migrations, containerization and Kubernetes adoption for enterprise workloads.

07

Security-conscious engineering

Identity, authentication, secure access and fault tolerance treated as architecture, not add-ons.

08

Long-term partnership

Managed support, knowledge transfer and continuous modernization beyond initial delivery.

See these principles applied across six capability pillars.
